The first Cuan Mhuire was founded by Sr. Consilio Fitzgerald in Athy, Co. Kildare in 1966. Sr. Consilio showed great vision all those years ago by providing residential, medically supervised detoxification and addiction treatment services. It has a 117 bed alcohol addiction treatment facility and a 22 bed unit for those in recovery from Drug addiction.
